Gerald Edward Brown

 
 

His wife and family regret to announce that Professor Gerald E. Brown (Gerry) passed away on May 31st, 2013, in New York. Dr. Brown was a Distinguished Professor of Physics at SUNY Stony Brook, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. His Wikipedia page has a nice summary of his career.

Gerry is survived by his wife, four natural children, his ex-wife, two step-children, and seven grandchildren, as well as several hundred academic "offspring."

Ceremony and memorial

On Wednesday, June 5th, we will have an open casket viewing 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, followed by a brief service at 8pm, at Bryant Funeral Home, 411 Old Town Road, East Setauket, NY 11733. The phone number for the Bryant Funeral Home is (631) 473-0082.

On Saturday, June 8th, we will hold a memorial gathering for Gerry from 1-6pm at Gerry and Betty's house:

Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided. Please bring your memories of Gerry!
